You may be able to compile Thuban using e.g. MinGW. We haven't tried this yet, so we don't know whether it would work. Some MinGW tips for compiling python extension modules are in the python distutils documentation: http://docs.python.org/inst/tweak-flags.html#SECTION000622000000000000000 Bernhard -- Intevation GmbH http://intevation.de/ Skencil http://skencil.org/ Thuban http://thuban.intevation.org/ From bernhard at intevation.de Thu Feb 23 16:23:11 2006 From: bernhard at intevation.de (Bernhard Reiter) Date: Thu, 23 Feb 2006 16:23:11 +0100 Subject: version 1.1.0 for windows In-Reply-To: <43FDCBBC.6020300@itae.be> References: <1140687693.5223.3.camel@geru-itae> <20060223142502.GH16928@intevation.de> <43FDCBBC.6020300@itae.be> Message-ID: <20060223152311.GK16928@intevation.de> Am 23. Unfortunately this is a problem with Python itself. According to http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-dev/2005-November/058053.html VC2005 will probably not be supported soon. Like Bernhard (H) wrote: You might want to try MingGW. It's really not something easy to do and I never succeeded with gdal (for example). Time is always the problem in that kind of project. I have to focus on tools that I can use without installing three different compilers to test all the way they could probably work. I'm really interested in Thuban but I have no time to investigate those way of making it work. Especially beacuse I need updated libraries such as GDAL 1.3.1, wxWindows 2.6, etc that will take me another bunch of time to make them work with Thuban. Thank you for the work on Thuban. I hope being able to use the coming new version in my project (is something planned ?). This seems to be a primary problem for any CVS to SVN migration. I just performed this binary fix for the CVS repository. Next, the repository will be migrated. You should all do a last cvs up and see whether you have still changes in you local copy. If you don't check them in soon, you'll have to copy over the changes to the new checkout of SVN repository. The migration will take place next week. Once I verified it was OK, I will let you know.
