As Bernhard currently is on vacation he forwarded the email to me, so you can get a timely answer. (Note that there is also a mailinglist for questions related to MapIt! At: http://intevation.de/mailman/listinfo/mapit Do I have your permission to forward this mail to the public list for the benefit of all readers?) To answering a few question together: There is a document about how to prepare data for MapIt! http://www.mapit.de/data.en.html It should be straight forward telling you about the principal steps and how to do the markers. It is possible to display big picture just adapt the configuration, the tiling is done so that Mapit does not have to keep all pictures in the memory. The problem with MrSid data is that Python does not have a library to directly read them. The technology is patent encumbered, which makes it hard for Free Software. If you are a developers, you might be able to get somewhere with the library from http://djvulibre.djvuzone.org/. (Again if you are a developer or want to contract us or anybody, having this integrated in GDAL and connect GDAL to MapIt! certainly are goals worth pursuing. ;) ) Best Regards, Bernhard R. -- Professional Service for Free Software (intevation.net) The FreeGIS Project (freegis.org) FSFE (fsfeurope.org) -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
