Ashraf, The source code for reading Erdas Imagine files used by GDAL (and MapServer) is part of the GDAL source tree. You can download it from the GDAL web page (http://www.remotesensing.org/gdal) and then look in the gdal/frmts/hfa directory. There is also a page about the low level code at: http://gdal.velocet.ca/projects/imagine/hfa_index.html MrSID is a proprietary format, and I know of no open source libraries that read it without use of the Lizard SDK which does not come with source. Taking into account that all the source code for TerraLib and TerraView is in English, would any FreeGISer be interested in providing such translation? Any help would be appreciated. (2) Interface between TerraLib and Qt Bernhard Reiter has noticed that we use Qt for developing TerraView's interface. He suggested that we should keep a clear interface between Qt and the rest of TerraLib. Indeed we have taken great care to keep them separate. We are also experimenting with TerraLib interfaces with MFC and Java. My third point is a request to the managers of the FreeGIS website. They have elected to list TerraLib under the "Misc/Fun" category. I would request that TerraLib be listed in the "BaseGIS" category, which I think it to be more appropriate. Because it is unclear at least to English readers if TerraView is Free Software and downloading the source is not easy enough I guess that lowers the chances of people offering help. > (2) Interface between TerraLib and Qt > > Bernhard Reiter has noticed that we use Qt for > developing TerraView's interface. MFC and most Java libraries (like swing) are also non-free so you can as well keep QT. > My third point is a request to the managers of the > FreeGIS website. The Misc category gets all entries that we are not sure of yet or do not directly fit into other categories. From its description terralib is a library and does not have a user frontend. It has important companions like the JTS in the Misc category. We are constantly trying to improve our categorisation so we welcome your feedback about it and will consider it. The text file contains records, each record containing fields for the Lat, Lon, and weather data at that site. There is http://djvu.sourceforge.net/licensing.html, but the licensing involving the patents seem to be tricky. It might be a way to learn about the format, though.
