The CASCADOSS Project aims at building up a critical mass of Open Source users within the GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) society, which could support each other in finding open source solutions for environmental related problems. To achieve this goal CASCADOSS sets up a “trans-national cascade training programme on Open Source GIS & Remote Sensing software for environmental applications”. This cascade training program is divided into three phases. An extensive study is conducted on issues related to Open Source GIS & Remote Sensing technology: 1. A wide range of Open Source GIS & RS software projects is reviewed and evaluated. The best open Source GIS & RS projects are identified and documented, 2. A wide range of environmental applications build on top of Open Source GIS&RS Software are reviewed and evaluated. The best Open Source-based environmental applications are identified and documented. 3. The different types of business models / added value services that can be built on top of the Open Source GIS & RS technology are explored and documented. 4. The complex Open Source licensing policy is screened and translated into a comprehensive guide on Open Source legal issues. -------------------------------------------- Managed by Request Tracker From rt at intevation.de Fri Jun 5 13:15:37 2009 From: rt at intevation.de (Request Tracker) Date: Fri, 5 Jun 2009 13:15:37 +0200 (CEST) Subject: [bug #5795] (freegis) żonr Message-ID: <20090605111537.4D816600815@lists.intevation.de> this bug's URL: http://intevation.de/rt/webrt?serial_num=5795 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: żonr 8h8n -------------------------------------------- Managed by Request Tracker From rt at intevation.de Fri Jun 5 22:29:56 2009 From: rt at intevation.de (Request Tracker) Date: Fri, 5 Jun 2009 22:29:56 +0200 (CEST) Subject: [bug #5796] (freegis) Open Source Framework in Adobe Flex/PHP Message-ID: <20090605202956.8FF0460082D@lists.intevation.de> this bug's URL: http://intevation.de/rt/webrt?serial_num=5796 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Open Source Framework in Adobe Flex/PHP This is a new project that aims to assist developers in rapid development/deployment of GIS web applications. FlexGIS is a GIS framework targeted towards web viewing that focuses on ease and usability, both for the developer and for the user. Out of the box, FlexGIS allows users to view and identify GIS features, along with all of the properties of these features. These features are rendered as images, overlaid onto Google Maps. FlexGIS, by default, allows users to perform rudimentary GIS analysis, in the form of feature identification. However, the true power of FlexGIS lies in the ease of its extensibility. The FlexGIS framework combines a flexible and powerful client frontend, a minimal server backend, and a spatially-enabled database, PostGIS, that works seamlessly with the rendering engine as well as the client application. Together, these components allow a developer deploying FlexGIS to create any sort of GIS application quickly and efficiently. -------------------------------------------- Managed by Request Tracker From rt at intevation.de Fri Jun 19 15:07:48 2009 From: rt at intevation.de (Request Tracker) Date: Fri, 19 Jun 2009 15:07:48 +0200 (CEST) Subject: [bug #5808] (freegis) gisgraphy project Message-ID: <20090619130748.78695600826@lists.intevation.de> this bug's URL: http://intevation.de/rt/webrt?serial_num=5808 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: gisgraphy project Hi I have started an opensource project to inject Geonames (geonames.org) and Openstreetmap database and use it via some webservice The first part (geonames) has been finished in january and openstreetmap webservice for street search will be in finished in one or two months and is in a beta state i would like to submit this framework : gisgraphy Gisgraphy is a free and open source framework that provides full-text and find nearby places search services, for places on earth (aka : toponyms) from several databases on the web (mainly Geonames and openstreet map). It provides an importer to inject the data into a strongly typed PostgreSQL / PostGIS database and use them via 2 web services or a Java API; geolocation and full-text in many formats (XML, JSON, PHP, ruby, Python, Atom, RSS / GeoRSS). here is the project site http://www.gisgraphy.com/ here is the site that provide the services totally for free :http://services.gisgraphy.com/ David Masclet -------------------------------------------- Managed by Request Tracker
